Goal
Following new requirements from the Public Utility Commission of Texas, a Fortune 500 utility company needed to implement a disaster recovery (DR) solution to ensure less than 59 minutes of downtime for its Advanced Metering System (AMS) and Market Operations applications.
The challenge: the company’s existing data center was not prepared for integration into a multi-data center environment. To comply, leadership needed to create and synchronize a second data center while upgrading the existing one—all without disrupting operations.
Results
minute Recovery Time Objective (RTO) achieved for mission-critical systems
fully operational, synchronized data centers established
Delivery
Sendero managed the full lifecycle of the disaster recovery program—from planning and construction of the second data center to final implementation and operational readiness. The focus: enable rapid failover, ensure compliance, and strengthen the organization’s long-term resilience.
Practice
Through Sendero’s leadership, the utilities company implemented a compliant, high-availability infrastructure capable of sustaining operations even in the face of major disruption. The program strengthened reliability, improved cross-team coordination, and provided a lasting blueprint for disaster recovery excellence.
