Goal
Vistra Energy, a Texas-based energy company serving the competitive power generation market, faced challenges with its Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and enterprise-wide data feeds. The existing system lacked reliability, data governance, and defined relationships between infrastructure components — resulting in inconsistent reporting, poor visibility for audits and analysis, and a lack of trust from employees.
To address these issues, Vistra partnered with Sendero to lead a transformational rebuild of its Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) platform — creating a sustainable, accurate, and automated data environment that could serve as a single source of truth across the enterprise.
Results
of records now electronically sourced
increase in automation, reducing non-critical fields by 13%
hours of training and support provided
interactive design workshops conducted
application and infrastructure participants engaged
Delivery
Sendero led a blended team of Vistra stakeholders, HCL technical experts, and Sendero consultants, all aligned under a “one team” model.
Practice
By transforming Vistra’s SACM platform, Sendero helped the company move from unreliable, manually maintained data to a dynamic, governed system that empowers users to make informed, timely decisions. The result was not only a modernized data platform, but also a framework for accountability, ownership, and sustained operational excellence across the enterprise.
