This week, we are proud to share Morgan’s story.
Morgan joined Sendero in our Houston office in 2020. Prior to that, she studied business management at Texas A&M University. Her consulting experience spans technology optimization, process improvement, organizational design, and change adoption across numerous industries.
What led you to Sendero?
I first heard about Sendero through a professor at Texas A&M who spoke highly of the firm’s values and the experiences of former students. After meeting Senderoans at the career fair, I was drawn to their genuine passion for both their work and the people around them. As I prepared to graduate, Sendero felt like a place where I could grow my career, get involved internally, and be part of a strong community from the start.
What stands out to you about Sendero?
What stands out most to me is how consistently Sendero lives its core values. They are not just words on a website or something you see on the office wall. They truly show up in how people work, lead, and support one another every day. Even with the firm’s growth over the last year, that commitment has not faded. If anything, it feels even stronger.
What has been your favorite part about being a consultant?
My favorite part about being a consultant is the opportunity to keep learning and stretching into new experiences. Each project brings something different, whether that is a new industry, role, team dynamic, or group of stakeholders. That variety keeps the work exciting and has made me a sharper, more adaptable, and well-rounded professional. It is one of the things I value most about consulting at Sendero.
What industries have you worked in?
Over the past five and a half years, I have had the opportunity to work across healthcare, manufacturing, entertainment, and energy. Across those industries, I have supported a wide range of work, including technology assessments, system implementations, operating model improvements, and people-focused transformation efforts. I have really valued the chance to see how different organizations approach change, growth, and operations.
Most successful projects are the result of exceptional teamwork. How has your time at Sendero shaped the way you approach being a team member and leader?
My time at Sendero has reinforced that strong teams are built by bringing together people with different backgrounds, strengths, and perspectives. Because there is no single path to being a successful consultant, I have learned to value collaboration and create space for curiosity, feedback, and shared learning. As a manager, I want team members to feel challenged, supported, and comfortable contributing their ideas, whether that is through working sessions, peer reviews, or open feedback.
What has your experience been with our company culture?
My mindset on teamwork is a natural fit with Sendero’s culture because our core values truly show up in day-to-day actions. I see that in the way people prepare for and support one another, step in with their strengths, and work toward shared success. Recently, I was working on a cost optimization initiative with someone who had a much stronger finance background than I did. Having that peer review made the work and associated outcomes stronger. Experiences like that are a great reminder that respect and shared success go hand in hand.
What Sendero resources or programs have had the most impact on your career growth?
Sendero offers a variety of avenues to grow, learn, and gain exposure to new experiences, which have been central to my development. The firm’s mentorship program has had a big impact on my career growth, both as a mentee receiving guidance from tenured consultants and now as a mentor supporting newer team members as they navigate their own career paths. That structure has helped me become more intentional about reflection, relationship‑building, and turning career goals into practical next steps.
I have also grown a lot through internal leadership opportunities, especially serving on the Quarterly Planning Committee—the team responsible for facilitating Sendero’s in‑person, all‑company meetings. During my involvement, I took on a variety of roles within the committee before ultimately serving as the lead in my third year. That experience gave me early exposure to people management and team leadership, which translated directly into my client work as I began managing larger projects and teams with more confidence.
Serving on our Manufacturing & CPG core team over the last two years has also been incredibly valuable. It has opened my eyes to what it takes to build a strong industry presence, from staying close to market trends to thinking about how Sendero’s solutions can support clients in meaningful ways.
Beyond that, I have had additional opportunities to support the firm more broadly that have been pivotal to my growth. I have served as a sponsor for Community Rocks—Sendero’s pro bono consulting program—on a project supporting a nonprofit craft studio, contributed to multiple upskilling plans to expand continued learning opportunities across the firm, and served on the Committee Advisory Board, where I worked with internal committees to explore new ideas, strengthen programs, and continue improving the way we operate.
Those experiences have extended my internal network, reinforced relationships with Sendero leaders, and enabled me to better understand how our internal programming supports both our culture and our client work. I truly believe my internal contributions have made me a better consultant and strengthened my delivery for clients.
What are you looking forward to in the next year, both professionally and personally?
Professionally, I am looking forward to continuing to make a meaningful impact for my clients, especially knowing that the work we are doing in the healthcare space can support broader advancements, ultimately contributing to better patient outcomes. I am also excited to continue growing at Sendero by strengthening my leadership, keeping up with industry changes, and connecting our solutions to the needs that matter most to clients.
Personally, I am looking forward to continuing to make my house feel more like home through curated art and decor, while creating a space where family and friends can gather. Outside of work, you will usually find me planning my next dinner party or game night, so I am excited for more of that in the year ahead.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone interested in becoming a consultant, what would it be?
Learn to get comfortable with the fact that you will not always have all the answers right away—and that is okay. Consulting is about staying curious, learning quickly, and knowing how to draw from the people, tools, and experiences around you. The most successful consultants are not the ones who pretend to know everything. They are the ones who ask strong questions, collaborate well, and keep growing with each new challenge.
