THE CHALLENGE
A prominent manufacturer and supplier of infrastructure products needed greater visibility into their resources, finances, and overall performance across offices nationwide.
A series of acquisitions and a legacy of manual processes led to a lack of real-time visibility into performance. To address this, the manufacturer opted to implement a new ERP solution aimed at streamlining financial visibility, standardizing processes, and enhancing end-to-end supply chain management. After the manufacturer selected NetSuite ERP, they partnered with Sendero to implement the solution.
OUR APPROACH
The manufacturer and Sendero partnered to develop and execute a plan for a phased implementation that would cause minimal disruption to the business while maintaining an aggressive timeline. Throughout the project, Sendero provided comprehensive leadership and supported program efforts through program management, workstream management, data migration management, system integration coordination, User Acceptance Testing facilitation, cutover management, vendor management, technical resource management, and organizational change management.
- Pilot Phase: The top priorities of the pilot phase were to gain insights into core business processes and to optimize operations through tailored workflows. To achieve this, Sendero collaborated with the selected integration partner to conduct a comprehensive gap analysis between core system functionality and current business requirements, informing the development of the program rollout plan.
- Phase Two: Sendero refined the implementation approach based on lessons learned and identified process improvements, leading to a refined and optimized plan for phase two. Migrating data from the organization’s legacy systems to the chosen ERP system was crucial, leading to the development of a comprehensive data migration strategy to ensure the accurate transfer of historical project data, financial records, and resource information to the new platform. Given both the ERP rollout and frequent acquisition efforts, Sendero also implemented a change management approach, utilizing a change network to prepare end users for the NetSuite implementation.
- Phases Three and Four: Sendero’s focus remained on further refining the implementation approach and adapting to the client’s evolving business needs over the course of a multi-year engagement. Phase four is expected to conclude in the next year.
