At Sendero, we hire the best people to deliver impactful results to our clients and community. Behind the scenes, our Talent Acquisition (TA) Team is committed to thoughtfully reviewing and responding to every application we receive. Our recruiters work closely with our candidates and hiring Managers to make the interview process a positive experience of mutual exploration – our candidates get to interview us at the same time we are interviewing them.
We chatted with the TA team to gather their thoughts on advice for candidates interested in Sendero and why they love what they do.
Meet the TA Team
Amy Kocks – Campus Recruiting Team Lead: Amy joined Sendero in early 2020 and quickly helped the team adapt to recruiting virtually during the pandemic. Bringing strong experience in the university recruiting space across a variety of roles, Amy now leads our entry-level Associate and Intern recruiting programs.
Kelsey Hooten – Senior Talent Acquisition Manager: Kelsey joined Sendero in 2012 as a management consultant and one of Sendero’s first 50 employees. She transitioned to the Internal Operations team to lead and scale our recruiting efforts. Kelsey is most proud of how the entire TA team adapted their focus during the pandemic to complete initiatives that would set the team up for success for years to come.
Kelsey Proctor – Campus Recruiting Specialist: Kelsey recently joined the Sendero team from Baylor University with a degree in Human Resource Management. During a summer internship, Kelsey developed a robust recruiting process from the ground up. This experience confirmed her desire to grow as a recruiting professional, and she is hitting the ground running with our team.
Madi Coughlin – Campus Recruiting Senior Specialist: Madi joined Sendero in the summer of 2018 as a consultant, and transferred to the Internal Operations team in 2019. Going through Sendero’s Associate training and first year as a consultant helps her give a first hand account of what the role is like to her candidates. Madi continues to bring a consulting mindset to her current role by striving for continuous improvement and demonstrating client service toward her candidates.
Paige McKay – Experienced Hire Recruiting Specialist: Paige joined Sendero in 2019 with several years of recruiting agency experience. Paige works closely with our experienced professional and Internal Operations candidates. Paige enjoys the opportunity to be a first relationship for so many of our candidates and getting to know them beyond their resume throughout the interview process.
What advice would you offer someone going through our recruiting process?
“My best advice is to maximize your meetings with our interview team! Make sure to ask detailed questions throughout the entire interview process in order to gain insight into different projects. This can help you better understand the day-to-day of a consultant at Sendero!” – Paige
“Before your interview, think through your recent past to remember situations that you are proud of. This will help you feel more prepared to answer the interview questions.” – Kelsey H
“Write your questions down ahead of time, and feel free to ask the same questions to each interviewer to gain different perspectives.” – Amy
“Be honest about yourself, your skills, and your previous experience. It is easy to want to transform into someone you think the interviewer wants you to be. However, put yourself in the best light, while being honest about your experiences and skills.” – Kelsey P
