THE CHALLENGE
A global Fortune 500 manufacturing company embarked on a significant digital transformation to enhance its IT infrastructure and drive its operational efficiency. Recognizing the need for a more structured approach to managing their IT projects, the company sought to establish a dedicated Infrastructure Project Management Office (PMO) for its North American business units. This initiative was a proactive step to ensure alignment between IT and business objectives, improve project intake processes, and optimize resource allocation.
The company aimed to create a formal governance structure, streamline case intake, and clarify prioritization to support their growing portfolio of IT projects. They also recognized the opportunity to enhance their team structure for more effective project management.
