The Challenge
According to a recent survey , only 12% of American SAP users had implemented SAP S/4HANA, SAP’s real-time ERP suite. This was largely due to the massive financial and logistical undertaking it entails.
As a major Consumer Packaged Goods company progressed through its S/4HANA migration, their reliance on manual testing created bottlenecks. With each deployment the regression suite grew, until the resulting delays and constraints become one of the largest pain points of the project. The need for streamlining and expediting their testing was clear. At the client’s request, Sendero assembled a multi-vendor team to take on the challenge.
Our Approach
Better Testing Equals Better Migration
Teaming up with a third-party software assurance company, Sendero quickly set about the task of tackling the client’s testing constraints so their automation vision could come to life.
Sendero provided project management, gathered requirements for each automated scenario to be developed, and assisted with test execution reporting. Team members served as a liaison between the developers and process teams throughout the development lifecycle. Over the course of four separate 15-week “waves,” the team focused on new development, enhancements of preexisting scenarios, and test execution.
Building A Foundation For Rapid Improvement
After creating a cohesive testing program, Sendero and the testing partner were able to shift the effort into operationalization. Working collaboratively, we created a foundation for the client to continue leveraging current automation assets, and implemented the skillsets to build additional in the future. This project was a true testament of shared success and a willingness to tackle complex challenges with tactical and strategic approaches in order to enable a sustainable solution for the client.
