The Challenge
The consumer packaged goods industry operates on very low margins. In order to support their growth strategy, a leading beverage company needed to refresh their aging infrastructure — while staying within aggressive time and budget constraints. Additional complexities included the client stakeholders’ skepticism of their IT organization’s ability to deliver on time without disrupting their 700+ manufacturing plants, warehouses and stores. Any downtime at a manufacturing plant or warehouse could lead to millions of dollars in lost production.
Sendero was engaged to provide the advanced program and project management skills needed to drive the large and complex refresh programs to completion — on time and on budget.
Our Approach
Bringing People And Processes Together
Our first job was to ensure the client team that we could put processes into play that would organize the various initiatives and drive them forward. We rolled up our sleeves and dived deep into the details to show the stakeholders our capabilities and way we work. This led to more responsibilities for members of both the Sendero team as the client realized our potential.
The Sendero team was able to leverage Project Management, Change Management, and Business Analysis skills to organize and execute a portfolio of critical infrastructure projects for the client. Working in partnership with a third-party technical provider, we were able to implement the infrastructure programs that enabled the company to modernize their systems, while capturing long-term cost savings.
Teamwork And Determination Make The Difference
The dynamic professionalism of our people was a key element in our success as we demonstrated resourcefulness, self-sufficiency, and internal drive to complete tasks on a daily basis. Shared success was also important, as the small team actively assisted not only their Sendero teammates, but the client and vendor organization teams as well.
