THE CHALLENGE

Conroe Machine, a Texas-based original equipment manufacturer (OEM) with a long history of producing products for the oil and gas market, was significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent supply chain, industry, and operational challenges. As a result, Conroe Machine decided to explore diversifying its portfolio and increasing exposure into other industries. Sendero partnered with Conroe Machine to develop a strategic growth plan and analyze their current approach to business development.

OUR APPROACH

Sendero started the project by meeting with Conroe Machine to assess their current pain points and identify their needs. Ultimately, the goals of the strategic plan were as follows:

1. Prioritize business growth in new industries

2. Evaluate different opportunities to diversify business

3.  Bolster general brand awareness and enhance existing brand presence

To achieve these growth goals, the project team divided into three workstreams: business diversification, business development, and brand presence. Within these workstreams, the team vetted research outlets for market insights; reviewed customer relationship management and software options to expand Conroe Machine’s sales and reporting capabilities; and identified marketing agencies and vendors to enhance the digital brand presence.

To support immediate business development needs, Conroe Machine launched a new website that addressed and showcased their expertise and capabilities.
