Chase’s Place, a Dallas-area special-needs school for students, has been close to the hearts of Sendero employees since becoming our first community partner in 2008. Over the years, many employees have found their own unique ways to contribute and support the organization.
The Annual Gala – Ruth Farrar, Sendero COO, helps coordinate the organization’s largest fundraising event of the year – The Starry, Starry Night Gala, consisting of a dinner, live music, and silent auction. She has also recruited the involvement of other Senderoans to spend their evening supporting the cause – either through purchasing a ticket or volunteering their evening, enabling the event to beat last year’s success by 25%, a Chase’s Place Gala record.
Collaborative Art – An important aspect of the Gala every year is the auction of art created by Chase’s Place students in collaboration with local artists, some of which finds a proud home at the Sendero offices. Renita Garrett, Senior Manager, was happy to provide two pieces of her resin art for the event.
Community Rock – Renita was familiar with Chase’s Place throughout her time at Sendero but never truly “fell in love” with the school until she became involved with the “Community Rock” project that Sendero provided for the organization. This pro-bono project provided a strategic plan for Chase’s Place to increase revenue and brand awareness, ultimately leading to the creation of a junior board, which was eagerly filled by many Sendero associates and analysts.
