Stream, one the nation’s largest direct selling companies in the energy industry, has experienced rapid growth since its founding in 2005 – allowing them to expand beyond energy into wireless, home, and protective services over the past few years. As priorities shifted to meet the demands of customer care, Stream found themselves operating on an outdated Microsoft Exchange environment and addressing the risks of a mail server that would soon be unsupported became a time-sensitive priority. Stream engaged Sendero to select the right technical partner, lead the migration from their on-premise 2007 Exchange environment to the cloud-based Office 365, and spearhead the post-migration change management and training effort.
Our team’s first priority involved selecting the right technical partner to focus on the physical component of the migration. Due to their attentiveness, thoroughness, and attention to detail, Softchoice emerged as the clear choice. Sendero partnered with Softchoice to define technical and organizational requirements, end-user facilitation strategy, and a post-migration training plan. In addition to the migration, Sendero would also lead the effort to execute a domain change for Stream as well as implement collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams to enhance communication and productivity.
Softchoice relied on their technical aptitude and subject matter expertise in Microsoft products, while Sendero leveraged our extensive organizational change management (OCM) capabilities to coordinate the project efforts between Softchoice and Stream’s infrastructure team and to manage end-user communication. Equipped with complementary skill-sets, Sendero and Softchoice took a cohesive, one-team approach towards driving the Exchange migration, domain name change, and collaboration tool implementation to completion.
