They joined Sendero as Associates last summer after graduating from SMU, Baylor, and Rice. We sat down to ask them a few questions about their journey with Sendero so far.
What led you to Sendero?
YASMINE: From every step of the interview and recruiting process I could tell how friendly, supportive, and helpful everyone was. Learning about Sendero’s core values and how much work and effort the company puts into helping external organizations is such a great aspect that you don’t find everywhere.
What interested you about consulting?
ANDREW: Going into my senior year at Baylor, I had no idea what I wanted to do after college. I had just completed an internship in my field of study, which left me disenchanted with my major and looking for something new and engaging. I was immediately blown away by the people that I met at Sendero and the work that they did. By the end of the recruiting process, I knew I had found the right place for me.
What characteristics were you looking for in a company?
ANNA: I knew I wanted to find a challenging role where I would gain skills applicable across many industries. I also knew work-life balance was a high priority, as well as working in a supportive and collaborative environment. When I wrote out what I was looking for, it was clear that Sendero matched every category.
Tell us about your experience at Sendero so far.
ANNA: My experience at Sendero has far surpassed the already-high expectations I had coming in. The culture is all they sold it to be—especially when it comes to Shared Success; my team members encourage me daily and genuinely want to help me succeed. I have thoroughly enjoyed my project experience, serving in a couple different roles on a technology implementation project at a financial institution. I knew little about technology coming in, but in just 8 short months, I have learned more than I ever thought I could and have gained confidence in my ability to lead and deliver to the client.
What has been your favorite part about working at Sendero?
ANDREW: My favorite thing about my job is the people I get to work with. Everyone is so friendly, genuine, and supportive. Sendero is truly one team and I can count on everyone to have my back.
Anything else you’d like to add?
YASMINE: I love the fact that there is always something new to learn. Each project and client brings something different to the table and the experiences from each one have taught me valuable lessons.
ANNA: I am grateful to work at Sendero because I can honestly say I am excited to come to work each morning to work alongside my team and provide value to the client.
